Description:

Due to new Florida condominium revisions approved in June of 2023, MLO’s need to be proactive and ask questions of condo management companies and what to look for on structural engineer reports UPFRONT to avoid closing delays. The July 19th Brokers and Bagels on Zoom will dive into what “need to know” questions should be addressed with condominium management companies and where to find answers if not readily available. Other “need to know” condo questions that can trip up a loan if not known until a condo questionnaire is received will also be reviewed.

 

In June of 2023, Florida passed Senate Bill 154 that requires condominiums three or more stories in height and built prior to July 1st, 1992 to have a structural engineer report before the end of 2024. Lenders are already putting requirements in place anticipating the mandate next year.
